To ensure that you, as parents of a (perinatally) deceased child, can begin the grieving process naturally, you must be given the opportunity to cherish your child and spend time with them. Therefore, the location of the baby's laying out is an important choice.
Laying out the body at home has a significant impact on the grieving process. Nooit Vergeten therefore offers the option of a home wake by lending out materials. This allows you to cherish your child in the privacy of your own home and prepare for the farewell. We will determine the timeframe (hours, days) together, depending on the time until the funeral. If you prefer to lay out the body in one of our funeral parlors, you are very welcome.
Our viewing rooms are designed as authentic baby and children's rooms. Parents who choose to have their child laid to rest with us can spend precious time with their child in a cozy space. Thanks to crib cooling or a cooling plate, your child can simply lie in a crib or bed, without having to worry about staying in a cold room.
Whether you choose to have a home wake or a wake at Nooit Vergeten, the important thing is that it's your choice, that you can spend time with your baby, and that you can introduce your child to family and friends with love and pride. There's no right or wrong choice; the important thing is that you follow your heart.
We're also happy to provide space and attention for any siblings. Saying goodbye is incredibly important for them too.
